About Me
Born in 1985 in London and have lived in Oxford and Manchester. I am a graduate architect with a strong interest in politics, systems of power, infrastructure etc. and anything that furthers my understanding of the way the world works and the issues we face as a global population, as well as science, maths and the universe. I have a strong passion for riding bicycles in cities and long distance touring.
I started writing this blog towards the end of 2011 due to what can only be described as a somewhat crazy second half of the year; The Arab Spring, the London youth riots, the near collapse of the Euro Zone, tuition fee protests, the lingering effects of the 2008 economic depression and the development of the Occupy… movement. It seems that the world is going through a bit of an upheaval, and all of these issues can be traced back to one consistent factor, Government. The people we vote, or don’t vote, for don’t listen to their people anymore and appear to have no intention of changing their ways and addressing this fact. Despite the economic downturn caused by the banks shocking our society and alerting us to the major flaws of an unregulated free market economy, our politicians, who are tasked with protecting us from such dangers, continue to pursue their own self interested short term goals and leave the rest of us in the gutter. Government has forgotten its purpose, to protect its people from the problems that are too large for individuals to be able to deal with themselves and ensure the LONG TERM stability of our society.
This blog is an outlet for my growing frustration at the fact that to expect simple common sense from the people running our country is considered to be naive. The aim of this blog is to discuss the issues we face and try to inject some basic rational thought process into something that is too readily steered by the egos, ideologies and tribalism’s of those least qualified to hold their respective positions, politicians.
This is me, for those that are interested, it’s the most flattering picture I have. Probably not representative of what I really look like, but fuck it this isn’t a dating site.
